Getting Brighter With Age: A Dedication to the People I Love
For my friends and my family, who are choosing to get brighter with age, not foggier.
I have been studying integrative and functional health since 1995, and one thing I know in my bones is that aging does not have to mean fading. I believe the brain is meant to keep glowing. So I’m dedicating this page to all of you who are saying yes to clarity, memory, and joy for the long road ahead.
I’ve gathered ten conversations and talks from Dr. David Sinclair and the people who interview him. His lab studies how to slow, and maybe even reverse, the aging of our cells, including our brain cells. I love this work because it points toward hope.
Pour some tea, press play on one, and let it open something up in you.
1. The Science of Keeping the Brain Healthy
Lifespan with Dr. David Sinclair, Episode 7
This is a deep look at how the brain ages. One thing I love here is the idea that the brain actually ages more slowly than other parts of the body. They talk about the everyday things that support it too: plant-rich eating, movement, NAD boosters, and good sleep.
2. Are GLP-1s the First Longevity Drugs?
Lifespan with Dr. David Sinclair, Season 2, Episode 11
A conversation about whether the new GLP-1 medicines could turn out to be our first true longevity drugs, and what that might mean for how we age.
3. How to Eat for Gut Health & Longevity
Lifespan with Dr. David Sinclair, Season 2, Episode 8
You know how much I love the gut-brain connection! This episode looks at how what we eat shapes our gut and our longevity, which is where so much of our brain health begins.
4. Is Aging Reversible?
TEDxBoston
This is his foundational talk on the “Information Theory of Aging.” The big idea is that our cells can lose their youthful instructions over time, and that restoring them may help repair damaged tissue. He shares this research in mice and how it might someday reach people.
5. Can Aging Be Reversed?
The Diary of a CEO
A long, wide-ranging interview about his lab’s work resetting the age of cells. He describes introducing a small set of genes into the optic nerve, and he talks about how reversing aging could change how we think about diseases like Alzheimer’s.
6. “Age Reversal Is Coming”
Modern Wisdom, Episode 1141
Here he explains aging as corrupted “software” in our cells rather than permanent damage, and he takes us inside the first human trials of age reversal.
7. NAD+, Sirtuins, and the Brain
FoundMyFitness with Dr. Rhonda Patrick
This one is more technical, and it is from 2019. It explores NAD+ boosters like NMN and sirtuin activators like resveratrol, including early research on Alzheimer’s disease and on blood flow in the brain that may matter for vascular dementia.
8. What To Do For Longevity
Lifespan with Dr. David Sinclair, Rewind
A practical roundup of the best of his first season: what to eat, how to think about exercise, heat and cold, supplements, and the tools he uses in his own routine.
9. AI and the Future of Aging Research
Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu
His lab uses artificial intelligence to screen billions of virtual molecules in a fraction of the time it once took, searching for compounds that could reverse aging. He is clear that human trials are still years away.
10. The Biology of Slowing & Reversing Aging
Huberman Lab
This multi-hour masterclass is a favorite. Dr. Sinclair makes the case that aging itself sits underneath most age-related disease, including Alzheimer’s, which means that supporting how we age may matter more than chasing one symptom at a time.
My wish for you: that every year adds more light, not less. Keep moving, keep learning, keep laughing, keep nourishing your body, and keep forgiving and loving big. I’m so grateful to walk this path with you.
With love and light,
Dr. Sarah Larsen
