A Special offer is being extended to you ~ because of her!
Hi!
My Mom, Farida Khan, loves education! She loves me being a doctor and me helping others! My Mom supported me in getting educated to have a medical doctor, MD behind my name.
She always made it a point for me to have enough money, time, and anything I needed once I got accepted to Medical School so I could BE STRONG TO BE USEFUL!
When she sees me helping another, she says, “that is why I made you a doctor and made you strong!’
My Mom is one of the strongest women alive that I know.
When we first moved to the United States, she worked for Avon and Mary Kay. Then she opened up her own businesses and worked almost literally night and day! She put my brothers, sister, and I through College, Medical School, postgraduate degrees. She worked sometimes from 5 am in the morning till 2 am closing time to pay tuition and extra tutors!
My amazing Mom was born in a village in what is called Pakistan. She was the only girl of the last wife of the city’s Governor. My mom was her Dad’s favorite child.
Precious and beloved, she was educated till the age of marriage. That for her was at age 13. She put down her beloved books. Her life went quickly from daddy’s little girl to her wedding, mothering, and belonging to her husband and his family.
My mom had a son and quite miraculously two daughters by the time she was 15 years old. Because married girls are not usually allowed in school, desperate to continue her education she secretly attended. My mom did finish High School in the city she lived in with her in-laws!
What was allowed? Elvis Movies, Hopeful Hollywood movies of the 1970s and Bob Hope traveling the world movies!
In our home, we had great discussions, movies, and dreams!
In the movies, my Mom saw women being fully self-expressed. Women getting educated and so many ways women were strong in the stories on the big screen! Love- like in the old Hollywood blockbusters! All were educated and traveling the world. She wanted that for her kids!
She convinced my Dad to take the SATs – Standard Test to get into United States College. He excelled on the Test on his second try. He applied to get into colleges in the United States! My dear Dad did and he got a scholarship to Southern University in Baton Rouge.
SO many juicy stories to share about this incredible journey my Mom and Dad have been on. Long story short, my Mom (and Dad) made me strong to be useful!
My Mom made the sacrifices. You see my Mom, respectfully called, Mrs. Khan, never graduated from college and yet, she made sure as a woman, I got to fully educate myself. She made sure I could express myself so I could help and be strong to be useful!
