According to local indigenous tribes, namely the Klamath people, Mount Shasta is inhabited by the spirit chief Skell, who descended from heaven to the mountain’s summit. Skell fought with Spirit of the Below-World, Llao, who resided at Mount Mazama by throwing hot rocks and lava, probably representing the volcanic eruptions at both mountains. Writer Joaquin Miller recorded various related legends in the 1870s.

Mount Shasta has also been a focus for non-Native American legends, centered on a hidden city (called Telos) of advanced beings from the lost continent of Lemuria.

The legend grew from a mention of Lemuria in the 1880s. In 1899, Frederick Spencer Oliver published A Dweller on Two Planets, which claimed that survivors from a sunken continent called Lemuria were living in or on Mount Shasta. Oliver’s Lemurians lived in a complex of tunnels beneath the mountain and occasionally were seen walking the surface dressed in white robes.

In 1931, Harvey Spencer Lewis, using the pseudonym Wisar Spenle Cerve, wrote a book (published by the Rosicrucians) about the hidden Lemurians of Mount Shasta.

Mt Shasta is home to numerous organizations including “I AM” Activity, The Summit Lighthouse, Church Universal and Triumphant, and Kryon.

Glistening Mount Shasta and it’s eponymous base camp of a town are just about as far away from a major West Coast city as you can get while still remaining on the I-5 corridor. That’s precisely part of what makes the Mount Shasta area so special; it’s far removed, yet it’s accessible. Given its location approximately halfway between San Francisco and Portland, most of Shasta’s visitors encounter the area as a quick pit stop or as a nice scene out the window during a northbound or southbound I-5 road trip. Well, we’re here to tell you that Mount Shasta should be a destination in it’s own right.

Situated less than 50 miles south of the Oregon border and dominating much of the far northern California skyline, 14,179-foot Mount Shasta is the second tallest volcanic peak in the Cascade Range and a stunning stand-alone peak to behold. The mountain encompasses a massive volume with a circumference of slopes that draw in an eclectic mix of climbers, skiers, artists and those with more spiritual inclinations. Reverberating outward from the mountain in all directions is a sea of volcanic buttes, sub-ranges, lakes and rivers that provide a diverse backdrop of outdoor venues and experiences, a backdrop nearly as grand as the mountain itself. 

Suffice it to say Mount Shasta has a lot to offer. Here are 10 reasons we love visiting the Mount Shasta area, reasons we think you’ll fall in love with it, too:

1. Yellow Butte: Providing one of the best views of Mount Shasta’s northern slopes, this 3-mile hike is seldom visited yet offers postcard worthy views and spectacular spring wildflowers.
2. Black Butte: Adjacent to the town of Mount Shasta, Black Butte is a shapely volcanic plug dome lying to the west of the mountain and rising over 2,000 feet from base to summit. Hikers can climb switchbacks leading up the butte’s lava-scree laden slopes to incredible views of Mount Shasta, Mount Eddy and surroundings.
3. McCloud River Three Falls: The spring-fed McCloud River and it’s three falls offer one of the most picturesque stretches of riverbank strolling anywhere. The river is accessible year round, but during the summer months Lower, Middle and Upper Falls each offer their own version of a unique swimming hole experience.
4. Deadfall Lakes + Mount Eddy: Hike or backpack to Deadfall Lakes and on up to the tallest peak in the contiguous U.S. west of Interstate 5. At 9,026 feet, Mount Eddy is the high point on the Trinity Divide, affording one of the best views of the Trinity Alps and Mount Shasta. Views stretch from Lassen Peak to the southern Oregon Cascades.
5. Heart Lake: This short hike above Castle Lake near Castle Crags gives much more than what it requires to get there: idyllic swimming and views over Castle Lake and Mount Shasta and stunning wildflowers in late spring and summer.
6. Castle Crags Dome Hike: Rising above the Upper Sacramento River Valley is a seemingly out of place grouping of granite domes and spires one would expect to find at Yosemite known as Castle Crags. Hiking 2,000 feet above the river on the Crags Trail affords access to Castle Dome, which can be summited via a short scramble. More Shasta views await! Castle Crags is also an option for wintertime exploration.
7. Burstarse Falls Hike: Tucked away behind Castle Crags along the Trinity Divide is a picturesque waterfall that is accessible year round known as Burstarse Falls. This 5-mile round-trip hike follows the Pacific Crest Trail to Lower Burstarse Falls. Take a short and cautious scramble on the east side of the creek to reach main Burstarse Falls.
8. McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park: Slightly off the beaten path from Mount Shasta, McArthur-Burney Falls is one of the most beautiful waterfalls to flow throughout California. Fed from an underground spring, the 129-foot falls so impressed President Theodore Roosevelt that he declared McArthur-Burney Falls the eighth wonder of the world. This is one waterfall not to be missed.
9. Mount Shasta Climb, Avalanche Gulch:  Ever desired to stand on top of a 14,000-foot peak? Mount Shasta’s Avalanche Gulch route may offer the best non-technical bang for your buck. Starting at Bunny Flat on the mountain’s southern slopes, the route ascends a broad gully leading to Mount Shasta’s summit. Note this is still a physically demanding route requiring ice axes and crampons and gets crowded during peak climbing season (guides available). 
10. Mount Shasta, Hotlum-Wintun Ridge: Looking to escape the crowds? A more demanding spring route, but one that offers one of the best ski descents on the mountain, is found on Shasta’s north side. Upon summiting, ski 4,000 feet of sustained steeps down the Wintun Glacier for a combined 7,000-foot descent back to the car. Note that this is a remote side of the mountain where help is less available than in Avalanche Gulch. 

The 7 Best Things to Do in Mount Shasta for a Weekend Trip

Mt Shasta is in Siskiyou County and to get around. If you want or need to rent a car, I recommend renting from Fox Rent-A-Car, Sixt, or Alamo. They all offer budget rentals and run regular deals and specials. If you’re not sure (or not loyal to any particular car rental company), consider using a tool like Momondo or TripAdvisor to compare a bunch of options (yes, TripAdvisor does rental cars!).

Twelve Chakras Of Mother Earth

Every animate and inanimate object has chakras, and it is for the simple reason that everything that exists is energy! Just like we humans have chakras, inanimate objects, such as stone, crystals, cell phones and animate objects such as, living plants, insects, animals, humanoid, and celestial bodies (planets, solar and galaxies) have chakras.

This article is about the main seven chakras of Mother Earth, and which part of the world they are located in! One can give Reiki to Mother Earth (Gaia) either by just stating which chakra one want to give healing to or one can state the place where the chakras are located!

Why is it necessary to give healing to Mother Earth? It is because the main chakras of Mother Earth makes up for the spiritual body of the world! Below are listed the widely accepted geographical locations of the Mother Earth chakras.

1. Root (Mooladhara) Chakra – Mt. Shasta, California, North America Mt. Shasta is part of the Cascade Mountain Range which runs from Northern California into Oregon and all the way up to the Canadian border. Mt. Shasta is believed to be one of the most electrically charged mountains but the whole area is also buzzing with energy.

This area is believed to be the base of Mother Earth’s energy system. Mt. Shatsa, a potential active volcano, is considered as the Root (Base) chakra of Mother Earth.

It is said that the entire universal chi is gathered before it becomes life. Just like our Kundalini energy reaches our top chakras from our Root chakra, similarly all the energy comes out in form of geysers.



2. Sacral (Swadhistana) Chakra – Lake Titicaca Peru / Bolivia South America Lake Titicaca is a large, deep lake in the Andes on the border of Peru and Bolivia. By volume of water, it is the largest lake in South America. It corresponds to the Sexual Chakra of Mother Earth.

The Titicaca Stone is the geometrical center for the Solar Plexus Chakra of Mother Earth. The surrounding area of Machu Picchu, Cuzco and Iquitos are also believed to have a very high energy.

Two Ley lines intersect at Lake Titicaca, these include the Male Great Dragon Ley Line which runs from Mt. Shasta to Lake Titicaca and the Female Great Dragon Ley line.

In many South American myths found is the plumed serpent which represents the kundalini rising to the Sacral Chakra.

This center has second highest number of earth circuits. This is the chakra where our primal energy starts. It’s often said it is through this Chakra, Mother Earth overcomes entropy.

3. Solar Plexus (Manipura) Chakra – Uluru / Kata Tijuta, Northern Territory, Australia Uluru along with Kata Tjuta are known as Ayers Rock and this is where the Solar Plexus Chakra of Mother Earth resides. The two are considered as sister rock formations.

These areas are still considered sacred to the native Aboriginals today. The Female Great Dragon Ley Line connects both Lake Titicaca and Uluru.

The Solar Plexus is generally considered as the Chakra which helps us in digestion of emotions and situations, and as for our planet we shall one day realise the importance of the legend of the Aborigines who form the umbical chord of the planet.

As per the Aborigines the dreamtime legends have arised. Anaggu life revolves around Tjukrupa, this is the ancient times during which life was formed.

4. Heart (Anahata) Chakra – Glastonbury Somerset, Stonehenge Wiltshire, Shaftesbury Dorset England Stonehenge as well as the surrounding areas of Glastonbury, Somerset, Shaftesbury and Dorset all form the heart chakra of Mother Earth Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument in Wiltshire, England, two miles (3 km) west of Amesbury. It consists of a ring of standing stones, with each standing stone around 13 feet (4.0 m) high, seven feet (2.1 m) wide and weighing around 25 tons. The stones are set within earthworks in the middle of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England, including several hundred burial mounds

Where Stonehenge is constructed is the strongest point of all of this energy. And the Female Great Dragon Ley Line connects Uluru to Stonehenge. Glastonbury, Somerset England is not only famous for the concerts held there, the epicentre of the Pagan practice, the first Christian Abbey to be built in England and Glastonbury Tor, but it also corresponds to the Heart Chakra of Mother Earth.

Shaftesbury, Dorset is the site of the former Shaftesbury Abbey, which was founded in 888 by King Alfred and became one of the richest religious establishments in the country, before being destroyed in the Dissolution in 1539.

The whole area surrounding Stonehenge, Glastonbury and Shaftesbury are considered as one of the most holy places on this planet, and are one of the oldest inhabited places. Somerset is the hub for conference for crop circle researchers and meetings, as in the past decade due to strong magnetic anomalies the crop circles have become much more complex and extraordinarily beautiful. Its said that energies of this area is similar to that of Mt. Kailash in Tibet.

5. Throat (Vishuddha) Chakra – Giza, Mount Sinai and Mount Olives Jerusalem, (Middle East) The area where the Great Pyramids of Giza are present corresponds to Earth’s Throat Chakra. This Chakra is unique because it lies in the exact center of earth’s landmass.

The Throat Chakra is one of the largest energy centers of Mother Earth, which indicates its importance at this particular time in our history. It is also the only energy center that is not connected to the Male or Female Great Dragon Ley Line.

Some say this is the the capital of ancient civilizations of Atlantis, home to ancient wisdom, Ascended Masters, Gods and Goddesses. It is said that the issues which are now being faced in the Middle East is the physical manifestation of cries of Mother Earth, who is asking us to follow the divine white light of the universe.

There is a spiritual turmoil which has enveloped mankind and by listening to Mother and learn what she has to say about how to use the energies positively and in harmony, mankind can accomplish greater goods for themselves.

6. Third Eye (Ajna) Chakra – The Aeon Activation Center, mobile The Third Eye Chakra of Mother Earth does not have a specific point of existence, is the only one that moves, this is due to the the movement of Earth’s axis.. Each time the earth’s dimension changes or we enter a new age the position of the Chakra changes.

The Third Eye chakra moves every 150-200 years or every aeon. These aeons are also lined up with astrological constellations. It is believed that in 2012 we shifted into the Age of Aquarius, which means the Third Eye Chakra is currently located in Western Europe near Stonehenge. the location where major crop circle activity takes place.

Ajna opens portals and allows extra-dimensional energies to enter Mother Earth. It is said that invisible inhabitants come to this area to bask themselves in this energy which they use for the new age, also immortals are associated with this Chakra.

When we shift into the Age of Capricorn, the Third Eye Chakra will move to Brazil.

7. Crown (Saharasara) Chakra – Mount Kailas, Himalayas, Tibet Mount Kalilas in the Himalayas, Tibet is the place which corresponds to Mother Earth’s Crown Chakra. This has been one of the holiest places for centuries, and people living here play an important part in keeping humanity’s collective energy intact.

This place shows us Earth’s true purpose. This place asserts on the point it is important for spiritual practitioners and lightworkers to maintain the ritual of connect to the divine energy, else we shall face discord negatively which may physically manifest in due course of time as turmoil and unrest in places and among people.

We must reconnect to the divine energies, not only for the sake of Mother Earth but humanity overall. We understand it is not possible for us to visit all these places and meditate there, but we can always give distance healing, or use crystals for the corresponding chakras, hold them in our hands, connect to the chakra we want to give healing and meditate.

This way we improve our healing powers, improve grounding, clear karma and help Mother Earth and us to live in a better way with higher vibrations peacefully and with love. Mt. Kailas. is believed to be connected to the Scorpio Full Moon.

In fact, many locals harness the energy of Mt. Kailas on the night of the Scorpio Full Moon, which typically happens once a year in April or May. For Mother Earth, this Full Moon marks the start of a new evolution and a new cycle of energy, as Scorpio is connected to the idea of death and rebirth.

Male And Female Serpent Ley Lines

There are two large ley lines circling the Earth: the Rainbow Serpent, also known as Serpente Arcobaleno, or Female Great Dragon and the Plumed Serpent, also known as . Serpente Piumato or Male Great Dragon.

Through ceremonies at each of these sites and the Medicine Wheels connected to them through their sacred points, we connect through our hearts and send energy through the Earth’s sacred energy lines.

Ley Lines intersect are believed to be high points of energy or high concentrations of electrical charge.These Ley Lines are also said to be able to take information or energy from these higher vibrational points and carry them around the world, spreading knowledge and wisdom to all inhabitants.

These intersecting points along the Ley Lines are also coincidentally home to some of the most sacred temples and monuments in the world including the Egyptian Pyramids, Machu Picchu, Stonehenge and Angkor Wat.

When you look into advanced civilisations like the Ancient Egyptians, it is clear that they seemed to understand the energy and power of Ley Lines.

In fact, most ancient cultures around the world seem to have some understanding of Ley Lines. In China they are known as Dragon Lines.

In South America the Shaman’s referred to them as Spirit Lines, in Australia the ancient Aboriginals called them Dream Lines and in the west they are referred to as Ley Lines.

What is also interesting to note is that where the Ley Lines intersect and meet, they also align perfectly with astrological constellations.

If you think of these Ley Lines as Mother Earth’s energy currents, you will begin to see how it is possible that Mother Earth also has energy centers or chakras.
